Benefits of Insulation

Temperature Control – creating a comfortable environment

Sisalation® has proved effective and beneficial in building in the comfort factor, keeping the home and workplace cooler in summer and warmer in winter. This increases the productivity of workers in factories and industrial and commercial buildings.

Vapour Barrier – reduces moisture-related problems

Sisalation® prevents moisture being introduced into the ceiling by outside weather conditions such as rain, humidity or precipitation - all factors which negatively impact on the performance and durability of a building and its component parts. Sisalation® will also inhibit the growth of mould and mildrew and decrease the effects of damp which may lead to serious illnesses and structure failure.

Dustproofs – keeps allergies under control

Keeping the building as dust free as possible can be an important factor in reducing allergens in the air we breathe, thus reducing allergy and asthma symptoms.

Fire Retardant – improves fire safety

Sisalation® FR405 and FR430 fire retardant products have been tested by the SABS and have a fire performance classification of B/B1/2/HV-SP&USP - with and without sprinklers in horizontal and vertical installations.

Environmentally-friendly – reduces carbon footprint

The use of Sisalation®  will impact positively on the environment. It reduces environmental pollution, and the consumption of natural resources and reduces greenhouse gas emissions. It also reduces noise pollution by retarding under tile wind and airflow and contains no ozone depleting substances.

Economical – it saves money

Easy to install Sisalation® is user friendly, maintenance free and long-lasting. Used as an exposed roof lining the foil’s high reflectivity greatly improves lighting.

Energy Efficient – invisible energy saver

It is estimated that 80% of the energy bill of a home owner is due to heating costs, therefore reducing energy needs makes good financial sense. Sisalation® reduces the amount of energy required to heat and cool a building, decreasing electricity usage and subsequent bills and paying for itself over and over again.

Thermal Resistance

R-Values (m2.K) or thermal resistance is determined by the overall roofing or wall system design.
